Meet Your Trainer

My name is Justin Granado, and I'm the owner and head trainer of Stellen Canine Academy.

For over 15 years, I've dedicated my life to working with dogs in some of the most demanding environments imaginable. My journey began in the United States Marine Corps as a Military Police Officer and Military Working Dog Handler, where I trained and deployed with working dogs in support of combat operations overseas. After my military service, I continued my career in law enforcement as a Texas Peace Officer, serving in patrol, investigations, criminal interdiction, and as a K-9 handler, trainer, and instructor.

Throughout my career, I've trained and handled dogs for real-world missions where there was no room for shortcuts or guesswork. Those experiences shaped the way I train today—clear communication, consistency, fairness, and building dogs that are confident, reliable, and capable in any environment.

While I continue to work with police K-9 teams across Texas, my passion is helping everyday dog owners build the same level of communication and trust with their dogs. Whether you have a brand-new puppy, a dog that pulls on the leash, struggles with obedience, or simply needs more structure, my goal is to give you the knowledge and confidence to enjoy life together.

At Stellen Canine Academy, we don't believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all training. Every dog learns differently, and every owner has different goals. Our programs are designed to create lasting results by teaching dogs how to think, make good decisions, and confidently navigate the world around them.
